Week in Review: October 27 – November 2

November 2, 2008 · 1 comment

Let’s see, the biggest news this week was that I started this blog.  Honestly, I thought it would be a little easier setting it up and managing it.  Of course, maybe I shouldn’t set it up at 11 pm!  And, it’s not the tech nor the interface – which are both great – it’s all the decision-making on my part:

  • What theme do I want to use?
  • What banner picture should I show?
  • What do I want to write about?
  • When do I write about it for impact?
  • How much sharing is too much sharing?
  • Do I want to insert my liberal-leaning views into my discussion?

Decisions, decisions.  I haven’t made up my mind on many questions, so I predict this blog will evolve as I figure out what I want to say and how I want this blog portrayed and perceived.

The biggest question for me is, “Having finished my Master’s program in May, why would I voluntarily bring myself to writing what amounts to mini-papers on a daily basis?“  Maybe I’m a glutton for punishment.  But seriously, I always have all these thoughts in my head, so I’m just glad I’m putting pen to paper (or more accurately, finger to keyboard) and sharing them with others.  Maybe I’ll find people who agree with me, or who disagree, or who might learn about something new or different.  But at least I’ll have it written down somewhere.  Perhaps as time goes on, I’ll post less frequently.

What else?

On Monday, I went to a fundraiser for Congressman Neil Abercrombie, my old boss.  I saw Mayor Mufi Hannemann and ate Marian’s Catering food.  On Tuesday, I went to the mayoral debates.  At the after-event heavy pupus spread, I saw Mayor Mufi Hannemann and ate Marian’s Catering food.  I thought that coincidence was funny.  On Friday, I went to a work meeting at The Willows and ate their delicious food.  So, I guess we all know I ate well this week!

I’m learning that I’m taking this blog far more seriously than I thought I would.  I devote some time in the day to take notes of things that might be interesting to write about and then I organize these thoughts somehow.  I definitely need to look into future posting, whereby I write on days that I’m inspired and then just plan the posts for release; we’ll see how that goes this week.

Thanks for sticking with me so far.  I truly appreciate your readership, comments, and feedback.

Mahalo!
