Last Chance for the Christmas Contest
Dec 18th, 2008 by Capsun
Dear Readers,
Did you know that there has been a contest here at Capsun’s Corner since last week Wednesday? Unfortunately, not a single person has submitted an entry – and the contest ends today at 6 pm. So, if you’d like to submit an entry, you have a very good chance of winning.
THE GIST
Share your memories of The Real Aloha Airlines for your chance to win a $10 Starbucks gift card. Maybe it’s just that my readers aren’t coffee drinkers…
HERE’S THE DEAL
All you have to do is leave a comment on the original post or this post sharing your favorite memory of The Real Aloha Airlines. Please keep the memories positive; while I despise Mesa/go! Airlines, this contest isn’t about them, but to honor The Real Aloha. I will select the comment that I like the best. The prize? You mean bragging rights aren’t enough? In addition to bragging rights and making a post out of the winning entry, I am offering a $10 Starbucks gift card, which I will mail to the winner or deliver in person if we make such arrangements.
This contest will close on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 6 pm Hawaii Time. It was originally over one week from the day I launched the contest. If no comments are received by the deadline, I may keep it open until I do get one/some. The winner will be announced tomorrow, Friday, December 19.
THE FINE PRINT
- By participating, you agree that I can share your comment in a future post, and mention either your username or first name.
- In order to qualify, you must leave a valid email address in the proper field. It doesn’t need to be in the actual comment, just the email field. Only I will be able to see it, and I need it to notify the winner.
- Not responsible for lost or stolen card in the mail; if I mail it to you, that’s good enough for me.
- Limited to mailing addresses within the United States. I only want to use one stamp.
- Void where prohibited, taxed, etc.
Good luck, happy commenting, and I look forward to reading your memories and tributes to The Real Aloha!
Mahalo!

The only thing I can tell you about the real Aloha Airlines is that I knew a couple of the employees and they definitely rank among the nicest people on the island.
That’s why I didn’t enter your contest. I have only flown Hawaiian, sorry.

I guess part of it may be that I have no *bad* memories. Most of the other Airlines (ATA, United, Delta, Northwest, Continental…) I can specifically remember instances where my flights were very delayed, or my luggage took forever to come out, or perhaps someone was rude to me.
It is in some ways unfortunate, because even though I fly Hawaiian so often there are only a couple memories I have I could share of them as well.
With Aloha, I flew them perhaps a dozen times – but nothing stands out, perhaps specifically because they were efficient, had good service, and I never had anything to complain about!
