Just yesterday, I launched my new blog, which for now I’m calling Capsun’s Blogspot Blog. You can access it directly at http://capsunpoe.blogspot.com or you can use the shortened URL http://tr.im/capsun. I think this will end up being my photo blog or of posts of a less serious nature than on Capsun’s Corner. If you check it out, you’ll notice that I have installed Google AdSense there, as a testing grounds of sorts. This is also your notice that I will likely do the same or other methods of monetizing here at capsun.org. Not to worry, I am still committed to blogging daily at Capsun’s Corner on more serious issues that concern Hawaii, Tech, and Politics – or any combination or permutation thereof.
I was inspired to start this second blog for a couple reasons. First, I am over a month behind on posting photos to my Facebook photo albums. I still plan to get around to those, I just want to be able to share some of the “better” pictures publicly. Second, Leo Babauta of ZenHabits.net also has a second blog at Write to Done. Now, he is both a skilled and artful writer, not the professorial one you are reading right now, but I think you get the point.
I actually surprised myself when I started this second blog. For one thing, I’ve been very busy at work and home, so I don’t really have time to do much more than I already have on my plate. In fact, this was going to be today’s post:
I’m Swamped!
“Like they say, if you love what you do, it’s not really ‘work’.”
-Mrs. Hartney
Indeed, I’m swamped – not to be confused with the I’m Stoked blog. But I do love what I do at work! In fact, I admit to others that I used to do many of the things I do now, just at home and for free, before arriving at my current job. But that’s why I really enjoy working where I do and with my co-workers. Of course, some days are better than others, but that’s to be expected anywhere.
Since last week, I’ve been much busier than usual, both at work and at home. I know I’m busy by monitoring the amount of water I drink or don’t drink. For the past two weeks, I’ve only consumed about a quarter of the water I normally drink. Those who know me know I drink a lot of water, so this is a noticeable departure from the norm.
So, dear readers, if this level of commitment keeps up, I may have to scale back my daily blogging, or write shorter posts. I hope I won’t have to, but just in case, I’ll manage your expectations now.
Mahalo!
I think by not committing to a regular posting schedule and primarily posting photos will relieve much, if not all of the stress of having a second blog. Either that, or I’m just a glutton for punishment in the form of stress, anxiety, and a general sense of being busy. And in case you still haven’t visited the new blog, here’s the first “real” post that I put up there:
Heard of HIRIAM Fong?
I always thought Sen. Fong’s first name was HIRAM, with one “i”. This is a shot from the official 50 Voices of Statehood ad on TV. How sad they couldn’t get his name correct!
Mahalo!
