Help a (Geek) Girl Out

I’m not sure if Lehua would appreciate me calling her a Geek, but it’s a term of endearment to me, so I think I’ll go with it.

If you saw my Tweet about this from yesterday, this will be a repeat.  From that Tweet:

My former co-workers’s daughter, Lehua, is a college student and is doing a project for her Mathematical Modeling class that requires the collection of some data.  The purpose of the project is to design an algorithm that can predict or recommend some video games that users would enjoy.   Here is the link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=WpyBuUM2_2fw43V9wrdXTNUg_3d_3d.

Here’s how I’ve been translating this to everyone:  her project seeks to bring a variation of Netflix recommendations to video games. I’m not much of a gamer, save for my addiction to YoVille and Knighthood on Facebook, but I still think this is a pretty cool project, especially if it comes to fruition.  Although, I was qualified enough to know a handful of the most popular games on the most popular consoles.  Has anyone done something like this before?  I’m not sure, but I’d love to hear from you about it.
