Are you a geek, in whatever positive context that term should be taken? Or, would you like to meet one? Well, you’re in luck! What are you doing on Sunday? Here’s the 411:
Sunday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m
Magic Island Picnic Area #39 [PDF Map: http://bit.ly/geekmap]
According to Ryan Ozawa, Hawaii’s Geek-in-Chief:
The Hawaii Geek Meet prides itself on (1.) getting geeks outdoors
(we’re geeks in Hawaii, after all!) and being family friendly
(contrary to popular belief, geeks do reproduce!). Like Manoa Geeks,
though, this is an all-inclusive event. Whether you’re a coder or a
circuit builder, a designer or a ham radio operator, we want you.
Catch up with old friends and learn new things about other people’s
passions! [Emphasis and links added by Capsun]
So, do you want to join us? The organizers pride themselves on making these events open to all, so all are welcome, whether you RSVP or not. But here are a few ways to let them know you’re coming.

It’s potluck…so as long as you bring some food and yourself (and some of your friends and family), I’m sure you’ll be fine. And finally, I really do hope to see you there. Here’s how much I’m committed: I’m flying to Kona for the weekend for a funeral, but I’m going to be there, although a little late. So if I can do it, so can you! Now, where the heck is my sunscreen?
Mahalo!
