I already shared this information with you last week, but I want you to know that yes, YOU are *still* invited to meet Congressman Neil Abercrombie.  This is the perfect opportunity to talk story with Neil to learn more about his plans to improve Hawaii!

Neil is a candidate for Governor of Hawaii in 2010.  A former city councilmember and state lawmaker, Neil has served as a United States Congressman representing Hawaii for the past 20 years.  Here are the three remaining community meetings with Neil this month (they include light refreshments and entertainment followed by a Q&A session):

  • Tuesday, August 11
    Waipahu Middle School Cafeteria
    94-455 Farrington Highway
    7:00 – 9:00 pm
For more information, contact: Loreto Viloria, 753-6317
Organized by volunteers in Waipahu, Waikele, Ewa, Ewa Beach

Remember, attending doesn’t mean you already support Neil. We want you to be able to talk with our candidate.  If you do, I’m sure, like many others, you will see Neil’s passion and compassion – and become a supporter.  And if you come to the August 20 event, I’d love to chat with you in person.  If you let me know in the comments that you’re coming, I’ll look for you there.

Mahalo!

amoeba: Thanks for visiting and your first comment. I love the points you've made here, but I'm afraid people aren't willing to make the change that is necessary. Also, someone once told me anyone who runs for office has to be at least a little crazy for wanting to do it in the first place. Some days I really do see the wisdom in that statement.

Why oh why does Mr. Abercrombie, or anyone else who retains any sanity, wish to be Governor of Hawaii? By the time the current Governor, with her "minimum wage or fired" message to state and University employees, completes the irreconcilable polarization of the electorate, the only choices available to the next Head of the State are to fail now (by telling people the truth about the state and its circumstances, which We the People of Hawaii will reject out of hand) or fail later (by making pandering promises predestined not to be honored, Arnie).

If Mr. Abercrombie were to hold a mirror up to the citizens of this state and nation, getting them to stop "Me! Mine!"ing each other and work together to repair Hawaii - well, he won't be elected Governor, but he will have provided a much more useful service. IMO.

OK, what's your guess? LOL.

Oh Capsun...I bet i know who you are voting for :)
